This summer, I visited Siem Reap, Cambodia. Where I travel I love to visit local markets and take in the local culture, color, flavors and scents. One morning I went to one of the mainthe local markets in Siem Reap. What a beautiful colors and textures— Bananas, mangoes, mangosteens, durians, rambutans, pomelos, pineapples and so many others. And as I walked through to the back of the market, there were meats and poultry and vendors selling snacks, and at the back, a variety of vegetables and spices were on display-chilies, lemongrass, galangal, fresh herbs and limes…and much more. This was my favorite area…taking in the colors and watching the women chatting while their children played. Life just seemed so much simpler and slower paced… and I just stopped, to gaze at the scene before me and enjoy it!
